People often ask how I ended up working with feet.
The short answer? Reflexology wasn’t part of the original plan.
But looking back, it makes sense. Every step led me here.
For over 20 years, I worked in Human Resources and Labour Relations. It was focused, detailed work — lots of problem-solving, conversations, and navigating systems. I was good at it, but over time I knew something was missing. I wanted work that felt more connected. More human. Something that also fed my heart and nervous system.
That pull toward healing had been there quietly for years. I remember wandering into a metaphysical shop during university, drawn in by crystals and pendulums without really knowing why. One pendulum came home with me — and it’s still with me today. A small reminder that this path started long before I could explain it.
Out of curiosity, I began exploring Reiki, energy work, astrology, sound, herbs, and holistic wellness. I took a Parapsychology course in university, completed my first Reiki training, and filled my shelves with books I couldn’t stop reading. I followed what felt interesting and supportive, without needing it to make perfect sense yet.
When my family moved from Saskatchewan to Vancouver Island, that inner nudge got louder.
I continued my Reiki training, eventually becoming a Reiki Master/Teacher. I trained in crystal healing, completed an eight-month herbal apprenticeship, and explored sound and vibrational work. And then I found reflexology — a modality that felt grounding, practical, and surprisingly powerful.
I trained in Classic Occidental, Traditional Asian, and Integrated Reflexology, and began offering sessions on weekends while still working full time. Before long, it was clear I couldn’t keep doing both. I took a leap of faith and stepped away from corporate life to build my own practice.
As my practice grew, I realized I wasn’t offering just reflexology.
I was blending touch, energy work, crystals, sound, and presence — creating sessions that help people slow down, relax deeply, and feel more at ease.
The name The Foot Alchemist came from that blending. Alchemy is about transformation — not forcing change, but allowing something new to emerge when the right elements come together. Each session is different because each person is different. No two bodies — or feet — are the same.
My approach is intuitive, grounded, and responsive. I meet people where they are and work with what’s showing up that day.
Along the way, I’ve continued learning and adding tools as they felt supportive — including crystal healing, herbal studies, sound healing, hot stone massage, and Soul Realignment®. Not because more is better, but because different people need different things at different times.
I’m not separate from this work.
I’m on my own healing path too — still learning, still listening, still figuring out what helps my own nervous system settle. I believe healing doesn’t have to be complicated or intense. Often, it’s about slowing down, creating a sense of safety, and letting the body do what it already knows how to do.
If you’re looking for a space to rest, reset, and reconnect, you’re welcome here.
I look forward to connecting,
Samantha
